Pre-surgery preparation

A day before the surgery, the doctor may ask you to follow these instructions:

• Stop eating and drinking a few hours before the surgery
• Avoid shaving the belly region
• Avoid certain medication on the morning of the surgery. The doctor will tell you which medicines you can take.

Surgery Procedure

Once you are given the anesthesia and are asleep, the doctor will make a tiny incision (cut) near the belly button and insert a small device. This device, known as the port, will create an opening by filling the abdomen with gas. This is done so that the doctor can operate.

Following this, a tiny camera is inserted through the port, allowing the doctor to see the gallbladder better.

Once the doctor can see the infected organ better, they’ll insert special tools to remove it.

Since the patient is given anesthesia, they don’t feel any pain.
